Командующий операцией использовал маленький конвой, чтобы избежать обнаружения; игра не выгорела. Те корабли, что еще могли участвовать в бою после первого захода атакующих, проявили твердость и дорого продали свои жизни, а в суматохе одинокий транспортник Crane проскользнул с почти не задетым скелетом структуры.
